There is no longer a need for concern about how or where to save your files. Oracle Agile PLM serves as the central content repository where maps, topics and images can be saved. Each content object saved with XPLM Publisher has its own unique identification number, thereby simplifying tracing.
Classify content objects into different categories by assigning them configurable metadata. Classification is important and required in order to find and reuse your content objects later.
Referenced content objects, such as images in topics or topics in maps, create a BOM entry within the parent item in Oracle Agile PLM. This prevents the problem of broken references and provides consistent control over related items.
Content control is achieved by using Oracle Agile PLM’s check-in and check-out mechanisms. Checked-out content objects are locked for editing by other users. When you are done editing in XPLM Publisher, check in your modified work, update the content object in Oracle Agile PLM and clear the object lock – all in one step.
Create new change orders and assign content objects easily within XPLM Publisher. Next, complete the workflow in Oracle Agile PLM. Note that it is possible to create individual workflows or use existing ones to release your content objects.
Standard subscription and notification features allow you to stay informed on individual status changes within a workflow.
Consistent redlining features allow for review of documents, as well as to add markup with comments and to collaborate with other reviewers. Compare contents of two revisions, and see immediately what has changed from one revision to the other.
