Since 2015, XPLM is a member of the IPC-2581 Consortium to globally promote the open and neutral Digital Product Model Exchange Standard (DPMX). The goal of the members, among them Circuit Board Designers and their subcontractors, is to shorten the innovation cycles of mechatronic systems.
Specifically, with a glance at PCB manufacturing and assembly, the universal IPC-2581 format facilitates decision-making processes thanks to its open and neutral features. In order to prevent errors in data exchange, DPMX consistently saves all the product and production data to a single file. Furthermore, the standard offers guidelines for almost every sub-process of product development, this makes the processes more efficient, save and transparent. Again, this also reduces innovation costs.
