XPLM achieves record results with ECAD-PLM integrations in 2021

Strongly increasing need for cross-domain data flows and engineering processes

Dresden, June 27th, 2022  from XPLM Solution GmbH, In 2021, for the ninth time in a row, XPLM Solution GmbH increased year-on-year revenues and EBIT with its ECAD integrations for PLM (product lifecycle management) systems. Between 2017 and 2021, the specialist for end-to-end digitalized engineering processes tripled its revenues in this field alone. In 2021, it increased revenues by 30 % compared to the previous year. The EBIT margin also reached an all-time high at the end of 2021 with an increase of almost 50 %.

"The continued success of our CAD integrations for electrical engineering and electronics in PLM systems confirms that our corporate strategy is correct.” says Karl "Charly" Wachtel, managing director of XPLM Solution GmbH, and adds: "Our success proves the increasing relevance of interdisciplinary product development."

Mechatronic BOMs and data in neutral formats

The unique selling point of PLM systems lies in the systematic management of all the information relating to a mechatronic product. PLM systems describe the development history of this information (digital thread) and reveal the logical relationships between data and versions. In addition, PLM systems respect the data models typical for the domains and the mechatronic BOMs automatically generated by our integration solutions.

“Charly” Wachtel explains: “PLM systems promote digital transformation at our customers by providing intelligent support for their processes throughout the company. For example, certain events trigger downstream processes and supply the required data at the same time.” This means that there is no need for data be entered manually – neither in work preparation and production nor in purchasing and warehousing.

This is a huge advantage for manufacturers, both in terms of time and quality, because every time data is transferred digitally, potential sources of errors are eliminated. To achieve this, our integrations convert native development data into a variety of different exchange formats and neutral formats. They either store these in a defined location in the PLM system or transfer them directly to an ERP system.
