The Challenge

Implementation of a hierarchical manufacturing BOM, since a variety of different data models have to be organized.

Project Phase

  1. In order to clearly define the requirements, the first work-shops were held at Wilo in February and March 2017. The implementation of the interface began in the following month
  2. In September 2017, further customer-specific adjustments were carried out and the required data models and bill of materials structures were implemented.
  3. As of March 2018, there were minor adjustments and extensi-ons. Shortly afterwards, the final and error-free release of the integration took place.

Customer Benefits

  • By automating tasks instead of manual processing, the integration enabled Wilo to achieve higher quality results faster and more efficiently collaboration across sites
  • The management of all related electronic product data and the automated creation of a tailored data model and bills of materials structures are on high impact for business processes
  •  With the worldwide roll-out of the Altium Designer to SAP PLM integration, users outside the ECAD world can now access design information, which greatly improves collaboration across sites
